I am the mother of a child on the autism spectrum. My route into developmental and behavioral care did not start in a clinic or a classroom. It started in a waiting room, navigating uncertainty, learning how to advocate for my child, and searching for support that felt both compassionate and genuinely individualized.
Walking that path myself changed what I notice. I hear the question underneath the question when a parent calls. I know the hardest part of the first year is not the therapy, it is not knowing what to ask for, or who to ask.
I also know how it feels to be the parent in a meeting where everyone else has the vocabulary and you do not. Nobody at Nurture Path will ever make you feel that way.
Alongside my lived experience I am completing advanced training in medicine and the behavioral sciences. My work is grounded in careful, ethical, evidence-informed thinking, and it stays deliberately human. I value transparency, collaboration, and handing families strategies they can actually carry into a Tuesday morning.
My goal is to walk alongside families with clarity and intention, supporting not only children's growth but the confidence of the parents who love them.
- Karen leads the practice and guides family experience. She is a and an MD Candidate, and does not provide clinical services. All clinical work is designed, supervised and delivered by credentialed clinicians in accordance with scope of practice.

Herbert is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with more than ten years supporting children, families and school teams across the Bay Area. His work spans behavioral consultation in schools, clinical leadership, staff training, crisis prevention, and building individualized support plans for students with a wide range of communication, behavioral and social-emotional needs.
He is also a certified Safety-Care trainer, which means he sets how our team responds when a child is having their hardest moment. He has trained multiple groups of staff in crisis prevention, and describes that work as the accomplishment he is proudest of, largely because of how much more confident it makes the adults in the room.I also know how it feels to be the parent in a meeting where everyone else has the vocabulary and you do not. Ciana Marmolejo, M.Ed
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Ciana is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with more than ten years supporting children and families across home, clinic and school settings. That range matters. A strategy that works in a quiet therapy room and falls apart in a classroom was never really working, and she has spent a decade learning where the difference lies.
Her practice is built on empathy, individualized care and close collaboration with the people around a child. She works as much with parents as with children, on the principle that a family who understands why something works will keep using it long after a session ends.

What those letters actually mean?
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
A graduate degree, supervised fieldwork hours, a national examination and ongoing ethics requirements. A BCBA designs your child's program and supervises everyone delivering it. We have three on the team, which for a practice our size is unusual.
Behavior Technician
The person delivering most direct sessions, trained in the specific plan written for your child and working under BCBA supervision at all times.
Supervision
Not a formality. It means a qualified clinician is reviewing your child's data, adjusting the plan, and answerable for the quality of what happens in your living room.
